Canadian Verteran, canadian veteran, the colonel, VA Account

This week I have decided to take a look at Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)

The first thing I did was set up a VAC account at http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/e_services/create-my-vac-account

There are two sign in options – the Sign-in Partner option where you can sign in using your BMO Financial Group, CHOICE REWARDS MasterCard, ING DIRECT, Scotiabank, Royal Bank of Canada or TD Bank Group username and password, or the GCKey option – a username and password that you can use with Government of Canada enabled service including My VAC Account. I chose the Gckey option.

I needed to choose a nickname and password and set up security questions.

Now I am ready to sign in with my new nickname and password.

They needed to know if I was a veteran or family member

The next pane asked if I had done business with VAC before or if I was new to VAC. I am a new member.

Now we are ready to set up my account with the normal questions, like Service Number etc..

Went like clock work so now have a VAC account.

The Missus and I were at a local store a while back when the young cashier asked if we were seniors. Due to my lack hair and cane and The Missus’s grey hair and walker, that should have been a no-brainer, but obviously she had sensitivity training and was testing her new skills. Being the […]

What is a Veteran?

A Veteran is any former member of the Canadian Armed Forces who successfully underwent basic training and is honourably released.” This also applies to the RCMP as their disability claims are managed by VAC.
